Blogger vs WordPress [ Which is better and Why ]

Whenever a new Blogger starts to Blog He or she finds only 2 platforms best for them which are WordPress and Blogger. Now many people get confuse between them and could not find out which one to choose for them. So in this post I will help you to find your ideal platform. So before going to the main things let's discuss some important things first.

Some Important Things

1- Here I will not compare 2 platforms but I will compare 3 platforms because wordpress is divided in to wordpress.com and wordpress.org and the third will be Blogger.
2- If you are just starting your career in Blogging So it is my personal recommendation to use Blogger later than you can shift to WordPress.
3- The comparison between the 3 will be done on the basis of various topics important for Bloggers.
4- I will give my final suggestion to you after the comparison. So let's start with this.

Comparison between Blogger.com, WordPress.com and WordPress.org

1- Cost

In Wordpress.org the software is free but you need to pay for the web hosting and domain. In wordpress.com web hosting and domain both are completely free while the same goes with Blogger.com too in it also you will get web hosting and domain free.

2- Level of customization allowed

You can do full customization in wordpress.org where you can do things like set up slideshows, add PHP, JavaScript, and much more and you can also customize your site to look like a blog or a website and in Blogger.com you can too have all the customization features like that of wordpress.org but in wordpress.com You can't fully customize your blog as you wish because there are many limitations and restrictions.

3- Set up Level

In wordpress.com and Blogger.com it only requires you to open up a account and you can also have multiple Blogs under the same account but in wordpress.org You will need to set up database and then install the wordpress software in your host.

4- Software Updates

In wordpress.com and Blogger.com the software updates are automatic as they will inform you in the dashboard but in wordpress.org You have to manually update the software and plugging, You will get a notification on the dashboard when the new version will be available.

5- Allow Number of pages

In wordpress.org and wordpress.com You can make unlimited number of pages but in Blogger.com the maximum page limit is upto 10 Pages.

6- Support Widgets

Blogger.com and wordpress.org supports widgets but wordpress.com does not support 3rd party scripts or HTML codes.

7- Custom Domain

Blogger.com, wordpress.com and wordpress.org all the 3 platforms supports custom domain which you have to buy from online.

My final Words

If you are a new Blogger then go with Blogger.com and if you have a little Blogging experience and also have some money then wordpress.org is the best and in any case I will not suggest you to go for wordpress.com because it is of no use.
